An exciting contest was the agenda of Chiromo Campus today as students passionate about the environment took up the challenge to engage in an environmental quiz and innovation challenge, dubbed Mazingira Challenge. Over 70 students registered to participate in the challenge which had sponsors from Doshi Steel, WWF Kenya, Coca-Cola, Kenya Forest Working Group (KWFG) and Inuka Foundation.
Teams of 24 comprising three students each participated in the first round, where 12 were ousted and the remaining battled it out in the semi-finals and finals.
Complete with a buzzer set to be pressed in 'quick fire' questions the teams led each other in gruelling competitive sessions answering environmental questions.
The final team: Kiboko and Kifaru team proceeded to the finals. Kiboko emerged the winners of 2020 Mazingira Challenge.
Brian Kipruto, Elvis Kimaru and Duncan Koech (from left), all second years students undertaking Bachelor of Science in Astronomy and Astrophysics emerged top among 72 students who participated in the quiz challenge.
The winners will represent the University of Nairobi in the national Mazingira challenge in Kenya.
Congratulations Team Kiboko!
