The School of Physical Sciences wishes to congratulate Dr. Albert Ndakala and Dr. Solomon Derese who have received the 2012 Norvatis & Seeding Labs Scientific Fellowship.

Short course in solar photovoltaic installation and maintanance (Solar Academy)

The Department of Physics in conjuction with the Solar Energy Research Group invites applicants for short course in solar photovoltaic installation and maintenance. The course commences April 2012 at the Department of Physics, Chiromo Campus.

Scope of training:

Second Conference of the International Year of Chemistry (IYC 2011)

Delegates to the second Conference of the International Year of Chemistry (IYC 2011) celebrations held between 15th - 17th February 2012.

The theme of the conference was "Popularizing chemistry with respect to Vision 2030".

Equatorial Africa Deposition Network Workshop

Scientists from Burundi, Canada, Democratic Republic of Congo, France, Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Republic of South Africa, Senegal, Uganda, United Kingdom and United States of America met in Kisumu  Kenya from 5th - 9th December 2011 to discuss issues relating to atmospheric deposition in Africa.

Visit and seminar by Norvatis Scientists

Scientists from Novartis Institute of Biomedical Research, USA Dr. Lewis Whitehead and Dr. Heather Burke will be visiting the Department of Chemistry. They will be accompanied by the Co-Founder of Seedings Lab, Dr Nina Dudnik.

The Scientists who are very keen on meeting postgraduate students will also give a seminar.

All postgraduate students are therefore, encouraged to attend to find out the opportunities available at Norvatis Institute of Biomedical Research.
