The Quality Management Committee of the college, in their long day workshop, held a sensitization with College of Biological Science staff on key changes in the University’s Quality Management System (QMS) as it relates to ISO 9001:2015. The workshop, which was conducted at the School of Physical Sciences boardroom on Tuesday 1, 2016 sought to equip staff with skills and techniques to align their duties and responsibilities towards helping the university attain the newly introduced changes.
Among the newly introduced changes in the University’s Quality Management System were reviewing and implementing academic programmes in compliance with established policy and regulations, offering services to the university’s customers in relation to the service charter, ensuring utilization of university resources in compliance within budgetary levels and increasing the number of academic publications in refereed journals by at least 150 annually among others.
According to the lead Quality management trainer Mr. Juma, these changes will be vital in enhancing university’s motto which is geared towards making the university “a world-class university committed to scholarly excellence”.
